| HOTLAPS.DE provides offline competitions based on popular Racing Games for PC. You can compare your skills in hotlap-racing with other drivers around the world. Your goal is to drive the fastest realistic lap on a track while abiding the rules of this competition. A 'hotlap' is a perfect and complete round on a dedicated track driven alone without other vehicles on track. |

| REGISTER / SUBSCRIBE / SUBMIT How to create a driver account and submit hotlaps | |
|
| Click on REGISTER to create a new driver account. Enter your account name, email address and select your home country (mandatory information). It’s recommended to choose a secure password. You can also submit your home location, favourite homepage, comment, messenger contacts and a 200x200pix portrait/avatar picture. To submit a new hotlap you need to be logged in using your activated driver account. Click on SUBMIT to upload a hotlap together with all required/optional details. If this is the first lap, you are submitting to a competition, you need to enter a driver name to subscribe. This name can differ from your account name but needs to be equal to the name used in all your hotlaps of the competition you’re subscribing. Improvements can be submitted afterwards at any time. You can only send one hotlap per track - per competition. |

| DRIVING RULES What's allowed on the track and what's not | |

1 Automatic/Manual shifting and car-setup are optional.
2 At least one wheel must always have contact to the track. The darker part at the edge of the track always belongs to it (Picture 'GOOD WAY'). Exception: If you leave the track and thereby loose time.
3 Cross-country-drives are not allowed at all.
4 Hard crashes with objects and wallsliding are not allowed. Short touches with objects are tolerated, if no time was gained. |

| RECORD & UPLOAD HOTLAPS Game settings to record & save hotlaps | |

Drive your hotlaps in TIME-TRIAL-MODE. Hotlaps must be transmitted together with PPS-file and the GHOST-file at #SUBMIT. The files (PPS and GHOST) have to be zipped and may not exceed a max. size of 50Kbyte. You can find the PPS-file in the \pps folder. You have to enter the times which you can find as "High Score" under "Arcade-Lap-Times" and "Rally-Stage-Times". The GHOST-files are in the REPLAYS-folder.

| RANKINGS & AWARDS Competition Awards | |

| The main valuation is the RANKING TOP100 where each player can collect points according to the RANKING POINTS system. You will get points on positions 1–20 for each track. In addition there is an award for DRIVER OF THE MONTH that goes to the driver with most improvements during a month. The rank leader is also awarded every month for LEADER OF THE MONTH. |

| ADMINISTRATORS They check hotlaps and keep competitions fair | |

| LAPChecker, LAPAdmins, SITEAdmins and the Webmaster are checking all submitted hotlaps according to the rules. They are able to check, modify, flag or delete an illegal lap. Deleted hotlaps are highlighted in red at the LAPS ACTIONS-LOG. If you want to help keeping the competitions on Hotlaps.de fair and tidy, simply send an email to the WEBMASTER or one of the LAPAdmins who have permissions to appoint you to be a LAPChecker for a competition. |
